Greetings
I hope all had a safe
and happy holiday season.
As many of you know,
effective October 16, 2009 I was appointed by State President Morris to
fulfill the remainder of Shawn Boyd’s term as Treasurer. Immediately
thereafter, I attended the excellent training National puts on for
Secretary/Treasurers in Chicago. After almost 50 years of attending
training classes and seminars, I must say this was the most informative
and contained more information than any I have attended.
I apologize for not
submitting a report earlier, but I have been trying to do the best
possible job. I must say that I have nothing but admiration for
Elisabeth Goodwin for the job she did for so many years. A person never
appreciates the position until they have to perform the duties.
At
the present, I have (hopefully) paid all the bills, completed all the
forms, written all the checks, and mailed all the W2 forms.
I would be remiss if I
did not mention the passing of one of my very best friends and one of
the most faithful NALC and TSALC members, Brother A. C Brown. Brother
Brown was a District One Board member, Shop Steward in Houston, and
Director of Retirees – TSALC. But, as far as I’m concerned, he was my
friend and I dearly miss my friend.
